Northeastern Pa Program Prerequisites

Northeastern University’s MPH program prerequisites are easy to follow, but you have to follow them precisely. Here are the key steps to getting accepted into this great program.

  • The application for admission is an important part of the admissions process. In it, you will submit information about yourself and your academic history to help us determine if you are a good fit for our program. You can find the application here: [Application]
  • We accept all major credit cards as forms of payment online.*We also accept checks made payable to the “Northeastern PA Program” and mailed to our office address below.
  • We only accept official transcripts that have been sent electronically through one of the following services: Parchment, eScrip-Safe, or National Student Clearinghouse.*Any transcript sent via mail must be official and bear an original signature from an authorized representative at the institution where it was received .


Forms are used for many different purposes, including submitting information to the school, ensuring that you are ready to start your program, ensuring that you are ready to take your program, and ensuring that you will be able to graduate from the program.

Immunization Form

When you apply to the program, you will be required to submit a copy of an official immunization record. Make sure that the information included on this document is correct and up-to-date. If it is not, it may lead to delays in processing your application.

Please submit all required paperwork by July 1st, 2019 in order for us to process your application by the end of this summer! Any materials received after that date will be considered for admission in 2020. We cannot guarantee acceptance into our program if you do not meet these deadlines!


References are required if you haven’t earned a bachelor’s degree.

  • At least two references must be submitted.
  • References should come from a professional you have worked with, such as a professor or supervisor.


Your photo should be a headshot, taken from the front and against a plain background. It should also be a passport-style photo or recent color photo. It should be full faced, with both eyes visible and with no headwear or eyewear.

CPR Certification

The CPR certification is a requirement for students in the MPH program. There are many benefits to taking this course, including:

  • You’ll get to learn important life-saving skills that can help you save someone else’s life.
  • It will allow you to get involved with the community and become more familiar with it.
  • It can provide a great skill to have on your resume!

These are prerequisites to getting into the MPH program

You must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Your GPA for all post-secondary coursework must be at least 2.75 or equivalent (a B+).

You must have completed a year of college-level calculus with a satisfactory grade of C or better and two semesters of college biology with satisfactory grades, both completed prior to matriculation into the program.


To be eligible for admission to the MPH program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: public health, nursing (BSN), allied health science (e.g., nutrition, physical therapy), or humanities/social sciences. This program is designed for students who want to expand their skills and knowledge in order to pursue leadership roles within public health organizations and agencies.
