Counseling skills are in great demand, but there are few places where you can learn these skills. That’s why we have created this unique course, which will provide you with the clinical training necessary for working as a counselor in New Zealand and give you an internationally recognized qualification that opens many doors for future career opportunities.

3. The Master of Counselling is a full-time two-year programme, with two seven week semesters each year. Students are required to participate in the programme from 9am – 4pm on a Monday to Friday basis.

The program provides an opportunity for students who have already completed at least one year of postgraduate research or professional experience within the field of Counselling Psychology or Applied Humanistic Counselling to undertake further research in this area under the supervision of an experienced academic staff member at City University London.

5. The New Zealand Psychologists Board regulates the practice of psychology in New Zealand under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (HPCAA). This means that graduates from Registered Programmes are eligible for registration as a psychologist, without further examination or experience, after they have completed an approved supervised practice period.
